Green Practices in Place for One City Marathon:

Recycling of plastic, aluminum, glass, paper & cardboard
Eliminated polystyrene / vendors instructed to not use
Renewable energy credits purchased to offset energy uses
Instructional signage on recycling & outreach to public about green practices and Virginia Green Travel certification.      
Placement of Gutter Buddies along race route to prevent waste from entering waterways
Use of electric buses to transport runners.
